PRELOADYour data

Privacy

PRELOAD is a weekly magazine of upcoming indie games. We keep as little as we need to build it around you. Plainly:

What we keep

  • Your email, if you subscribe, and when you confirmed it.
  • Your profile, if you build a magazine or follow a game: the name and tags you chose, the games you follow or pass on, and the games you looked at in the issues.
  • What you do with links: which games you open on Steam from the site or from our emails, and whether an email was opened (a tiny image in the email tells us). We use this only to learn what you like and to tell developers how a game did, never by name.
  • Where you came from, if your link had a code (for example a post): kept with your profile or subscription.
  • Cookies that make the site work: your profile, your sign-in, your screen size and that code. No advertising cookies.

Who else sees it

Only the editor sees readers individually. Our email service delivers the emails and our hosting company runs the site; they handle the data for us and for nothing else. We do not sell it and we do not share it with game developers or sponsors, only totals (for example how many readers followed a game).
